We went up to Shropshire for the weekend of 24-26 June, staying at Bridges YHA.
Saturday was overcast, rather than the sunny weather we'd hoped for, though fortunately it stayed dry. We did a linear walk along much of the length of the Long Mynd.
When we got back we went to the garden of the local pub, who very kindly allowed us to not only eat Susan's birthday cake, but also drink her bubbly, and even lent us glasses for the purpose.
We woke up on Sunday to bright sunshine. We left the hostel and drove up to a car park near the Stipenstones ridge, from where we did a circular walk. In order to get the beginning of the ridge we started off by walking across farmland, including some bog and a barbed wire fence.
At last we could climb up onto the ridge.
There was a trig point on the top of one of them. Andy, Richard and I climbed up to get to it; the next few photos show the views from the top
