Camping in Cornwall

On the easter weekend (6-9 April) we went for a weekend camping in North Cornwall. We stayed in a campsite just outside Tintagel.

Saturday

We started Saturday's walk by walking into Tintagel, then heading up past the church and in to the top entrance to the castle.

We spent a while exploring the castle

We then continued around the coast towards Boscastle

This impressive feature is Rocky Valley

We followed the stream up away from Rocky Valley for a while, to see some ruined buildings.

After that we returned to the coast path.

We came round the corner and there was Boscastle in front of us.

After a while hanging around Boscastle, eating a cream tea and drinking a pint, we got the bus back.

Sunday

Sunday's walk was in the opposite direction, west from Tintagel. We still started by walking into the village and up past the church, then headed for the coast near the youth hostel. Once we got there, we walked west along the coast.

We got to Trebarwith strand, where there's a nice beach (at low tide, anyway!). Some people stayed here all day, while the rest of us extended the walk up the steep hill the other side.

After lunch we turned round and went back to the beach to join the others.

We walked back to Tintagel; this is the view back down onto the beach:
