There was a walking group holiday to the Isle of Skye at the beginning of September, staying in self-catering accommodation belonging to the Sligachan hotel.
We flew to Dublin, picked up our hire car and drove up towards Skye. On the way up we stopped to eat our sandwiches in a layby in Glencoe, and again to have a look around Eilean Donan Castle.
After a further stop for some shopping, we got to the accommodation, waited for everyone else to get there, cooked and ate dinner, went down the pub for a quick pint, and went to bed.
For the first day's walking, we set off from Sligachan, up the glen towards Marsco.
We stopped here, somewhere on the far side of Marsco, for lunch. After lunch, some people turned back while the rest of went up to the summit.
We went back the way we'd come up.
In the evening we drove into Portree, to a great pub called the Isles Inn. Afterwards we had a quick wander around the town. I didn't take my camera, so missed a great photo. I used my phone to grab a quick snapshot to show what I missed:
