On the late may bank holiday weekend (22-25 May), we went to the Yorkshire Dales, staying in a bunkhouse in Clapham.
On Saturday we all walked up Whernside, while those of us who wanted a longer walk did Ingleborough too. We set off in drizzle and low cloud, but the weather gradually improved and apart from one short shower the latter part of the walk was quite pleasant.
To our surprise, we woke to cloudless blue skies. We walked around Malham - Janet's Foss, Gordale Scar, Ing Scar and Malham Cove. (Some of the group didn't fancy the scramble up Gordale Scar, so missed out the top of Gordale Scar and Ing Scar, but they got to see the rest).
Another nice sunny morning, and we did a short walk up the valley to Gaping Gill before driving home.
